Nora turns NINE!!!

Well, we actually survived all these girls in the house at once! Nora celebrated her 9th birthday with a Pizza Party. She invited some of her friends from school. Giggly, goofy, screaming girls!!! They all made-their-own pizzas and then giggled, goofed and screamed some more! I can't believe how big she is already!

Happy New Year 2009!

Well, another year has come and gone! It's hard to believe how quickly time flies, we must be having fun! We have been so blessed this year in many ways; continued growth in faith, health, and happiness remain our top three. We were fortunate to have a few visitors this year -- my mom, her hubby Steve and their dog Missy and my neice Liza -- happy to have them come, sad to see them go! We were also able to take a mini family vacation to Arizona for The Truth Project leadership training. While we were there we were able to set aside time to see the beautiful Grand Canyon and have a quick visit with old friends. We've also been blessed to be part of a church planting/launching team - broadening our faith and our friendships. Jerry's job with Delphi remains in-tact, and I am finding more to do than I have time to do it in! Both of our girls have excelled in school and continually find ways to test, torture, and try our patience! But we pray that this is only a "phase" and that eventually they'll grow out of that! It constantly amazes me how God finds ways to pour out His blessings even tho we don't deserve it. We are heading into this new year focused on ways in which we can become better stewards of our time, talents, and treasures; trying to keep those resolutions that we make and resolving the ones that didn't quite make it. We also have a renewed sense of faith that God will get us thru these times of uncertainty. Tho the stock market continues to falter, our faith will not. We will remain steadfast, knowing that HE is in control! I'm sure that we'll all be back on the "wagon" trying to loose those extra pounds that we've put on, and to dig ourselves out of that financial hole we refer to as "debt" ... clearing the slate and starting anew. Hopefully this year finds all of our friends happy and healthy, better than ever, and focused on the things that are most important -- faith, family, and friends! Happy New Year - and God's blessings to you and your familiy!

My baby is ELEVEN!!!

It's almost too much to handle that my baby girl is now a "tweener" ... in between a LOT of things actually! Emma turned eleven on November 21st and celebrated with a pizza party, cake and a sleep-over ...

Happy Halloween!

Halloween was great this year! Emma has decided that she's too old to trick-or-treat with her mom, so she and her friends ventured out on their own! Nora and friends joined mom and friends and worked the block for candy! I was suprised at how many people opt out all together - we ended up walking a long way for a little candy - major bummer! Our party was a big success! Friends from school and church came to hang out, play games, and eat lots of yummy goodies! We had great weather (around 70) and a great time!

Live the Dream

This past weekend was life-changing for me. I was lucky enough to go to Baton Rouge, LA with 5 other wonderful women to attend HPC's Live the Dream woman's conference. In those three days, my heart was opened and my chains were broken. I discovered what it was to be a true believer in the one-and-only Jesus! We were blessed by the words of some truly Godly women - and one awe-inspiring man. And the southern hospitality was outstanding ... "ya'll" have no idea! The women who hosted us have true servant's hearts. My relationship with these ladies has become friendships that I know will last forever. And my relationship with God has become stronger and closer because of this trip. I am better equipped to be a WARRIOR for Him, for my marriage and my children - Thank you HPC for this wonderful experience!

God gives us all a dream in life, He puts it in our heart; Then He whispers "Don't be afraid, I'll show you how to start. To live the dream I've given you while here on earth from me, Your life is only a little vapor before you come to be with me. So live the dream to its fullest, don't let it slip away, Then look behind with tears and say "I thought I had another day." -- Delta Trabeaux Keith

First Day of School

Well, I know it's been a few weeks now, but I finally down-loaded the pictures from the first day of school. It's a bittersweet day around here on the first day of school. Emma was moving on to Middle school ... leaving earlier, and catching the bus! Yikes! The first step for me as a mom in "letting go"! :( She always has been quite independant, but I don't think she realized how much this hurt her momma! She wouldn't even let me walk her to the bus stop! So I had to sneek and snap a picture of her walking away ... can you feel my heart tearing?!? Now, Nora on the other hand, was quite happy to have me take her picture and stay with her all the way to her classroom! No problems there! It's great to know that your kids still want you around - to some point - even if it has to be in the other room! I can still stretch my ear! :) Well, here they are ... my pride and joy!

My First Post!

Well, I guess it's official! We're now a "blog" ... Hopefully this keeps our friends and family up to date on what's going on in "Trevillian" land. As most of you know, we've been in El Paso, TX for almost 4 years now! Hard to believe ... I guess it's true what they say "Time Flies". Seems to go faster and faster every year! Emma is almost 11 and Nora is 8. Both are doing very well in school. We are getting used to them being at seperate schools now and on different schedules - Emma graduated to Middle School and Nora is still in Elementary. We enjoyed a wonderful vacation this summer to The Grand Canyon. It was truly amazing! I have seen many pictures, but none of them do it justice! The amazing hand of God at work ... if you haven't had a chance to go, make it a requirement ... add it to your "bucket list" ... it's well worth it!
